I love dancing, just freestyling it makes me feel creative and happy. I think of my work as dancing too. When I design a program for learning, I aim to build something that will help different learners understand the content and have a thrill in the process. Like dancing it should be fun. Dancing allows me freedom which is what I experience when I design a program as I avoid the clutter and focus on the core of the understanding a learner needs at the end. What I love most in my job and in life really, is to see a light switch go on. That is when I know I achieved my purpose.
I am forever curious about the learning needs of different learners, the brain, and the process of learning. I also love to learn and are always learning new steps in whatever dance I want to do. I dance through pages in books, through published articles and YouTubes. As a coach, Occupational Psychologist, and facilitator I have learned to dance with different learners and enjoy using that in my work.
My interest in self confidence and the affect on future success started in 2003 when I researched this for my dissertation. I have never stopped learning about characteristics, behaviour and mindset some people have that help them to be successful while others struggle. I help my son to develop self awareness and required skills and mindset so that he may have a positive mindful outlook, be confident and lead his life by making conscious choices.
I have twirled in learning and development in the Middle East, Malaysia and South Africa and have danced with over seventy different nationalities over a twenty-four-year period. My steps takes me from class-room learning content to online learning and smart phone learning too. I have the most fun when I can dance from the kitchen to the living room and on to work at my desk.
